Overview
- Genesis revealed the No. 17 GMR-001 race livery for its first WEC season, featuring a gray base with orange accents, the South Korean flag, and Hangeul script for “Magma.”
- The car was built with partner Oreca to LMDh rules that use a standardized chassis and allow entry in both WEC and IMSA.
- Power comes from a twin-turbo 3.2-liter V8 based on Hyundai’s World Rally engine architecture, which the team says has shown strong durability.
- Pre-season running totaled nearly 25,000 kilometers, including about 9,000 kilometers on a single engine, as the team set reliability and penalty-free finishes as its first targets.
- André Lotterer, Pipo Derani, and Mathys Jaubert will race the No. 17, with Paul-Loup Chatin, Mathieu Jaminet, and Dani Juncadella in the No. 19, though the team has not announced whether it will use two or three drivers per car at Imola on April 17–19.
