Genesis Unveils Magma Orange Gradient for Le Mans Debut

The new Magma livery references Korea’s volcanic imagery and uses HEXIS protective film to keep the finish intact during Genesis Magma Racing’s first 24‑hour endurance test.

Overview

  • Genesis Magma Racing publicly revealed the Magma orange-to-red gradient livery for both GMR-001 Hypercars on Monday, June 1, ahead of the team’s first 24 Hours of Le Mans appearance.
  • The design fades from bright Magma Orange at the nose to deep red at the rear, retains Hangeul lettering for “Magma,” and is intended to express the brand’s Korean cultural roots and the idea of “power beneath the surface.”
  • The two entries will share the base livery but will be distinguished visually with different highlights: the No. 19 carries white logos and accents while the No. 17 uses orange-and-black detailing.
  • Genesis worked with technical partner HEXIS to apply ultra-conformable wrapping films and BODYFENCE protection to preserve color and gloss under high-speed airflow, heat, and track debris without adding unnecessary weight.
  • Team principal Cyril Abiteboul said Le Mans is the season’s biggest test for the debuting WEC team, which has already scored points at Spa, and the livery reveal doubles as a marketing statement and a real-world reliability trial.
