Gears of War: E‑Day Multiplayer Beta Preloads Go Live Ahead of Staggered August Tests

Preloads let eligible players download separate Horde Siege and Versus beta clients ahead of Early Access and the Open Beta; PC users must install NVIDIA driver 610.74 to run the test.

Overview

  • Preloads became available on Tuesday for pre‑orders and Game Pass Ultimate/PC subscribers with the Series X beta weighing about 62GB in total split into separate Horde Siege and Versus downloads.
  • Early Access runs Aug. 6–10 and is limited to players who pre‑ordered or hold Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass, and it includes only the 12‑player Horde Siege PvE mode.
  • The Open Beta runs Aug. 13–17, adds the 4v4 Versus competitive mode, and opens beta access to all eligible platforms and players who did not take part in Early Access.
  • Beta progression uses two tracks: challenge, medal and some class/level progress carry between the weekends, but most class progression, player level and other medal progress will reset at launch while the Beta title, Beta medal and challenge rewards persist.
  • PC players must install NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready Driver 610.74 before launching the beta or the game will not run, and the full game is scheduled to release on October 6, 2026 as part of Xbox’s Game Pass rollout strategy that gives subscribers early access and day‑one benefits.
