Gaza Authorities Report 2,400 Ceasefire Breaches as New Strikes Kill Civilians

Local officials say the rising count shows the truce has not held.

Overview

  • Local health and media sources said at least seven people were killed and about two dozen were hurt in Gaza in the past day, with new attacks reported in Rafah and central areas.
  • The Gaza Government Media Office said Israeli forces have carried out 2,400 violations since the October ceasefire took effect, citing 921 shooting incidents, 1,109 bombardments, 97 incursions, and 273 demolitions.
  • The office reported at least 754 deaths and 2,100 injuries from those incidents, saying the toll includes children, women, and older adults.
  • Medical staff reported a 16-year-old boy was badly wounded in a drone strike in Deir al-Balah and a girl was shot in the Mawasi area of Khan Yunis, with shelling also hitting areas east of the city and the coast.
  • Local authorities said aid and travel remain tightly restricted, with few aid and commercial trucks entering in recent months and the Rafah crossing running at reduced capacity, which they say deepens the hardship for displaced families sheltering in Mawasi.
