- Following Friday’s first court appearance in Boksburg, the magistrate postponed the matter to 1 April for a formal bail application.
- Forensic teams seized phones and other devices that contained images and videos, including child sexual abuse material, and digital traces from the first device led investigators to the second suspect, who also had two unlicensed firearms.
- Prosecutors listed charges that include rape, sexual assault, possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, and sharing intimate images without consent under Section 16 of the Cyber Crimes Act, with investigators noting the probe began with NCA intelligence on drug-facilitated assault known as somnophilia.
