Overview
- On Monday, June 29 the District Basic Education Officer Rahul Pawar issued an office order requiring all schools in Gautam Buddh Nagar to run Classes 1–8 from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm until further notice.
- The directive covers government, government-aided, recognised, CBSE, ICSE, madrasa and other board-affiliated schools and was approved by the District Magistrate.
- District authorities described the change as a precaution to keep young students out of the hottest part of the day after north India saw above-normal temperatures and humidity.
- Schools were instructed to strictly implement the revised hours and copies of the order were forwarded to state and district education offices and all block education officers for necessary action.
- Parents were asked to coordinate with schools on transport and related arrangements, and the India Meteorological Department has said the monsoon is likely to advance over north India soon, which could ease conditions.
