- High‑visibility checkpoints and Mandatory Intoxicant Testing are in place nationwide as the holiday operation remains active.
- Excessive speeds logged include 138 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on the N18 at Ballinacurra, 124 km/h in an 80 km/h zone in Dundalk, 91 km/h in a 60 km/h zone in Greystones, and 85 km/h in a 50 km/h zone in Tower, Co Cork.
- A further 120 drivers were detected using mobile phones or not wearing seatbelts.
- Gardaí are urging drivers to plan safe journeys home, slow down, and give full attention to driving.
