Overview
- Scarlett Faulkner, a Limerick woman in her 20s and mother of one, remains in a critical condition at Cork University Hospital with severe head injuries.
- The assault occurred around 5.30pm on Saturday on the R494 at Birdhill near the M7, after HSE paramedics treated her at the scene and she was airlifted to University Hospital Limerick before transfer to CUH.
- Gardaí are seeking footage and sightings of a grey 162 Ford Transit van and a blue 161 Volkswagen Touran reported driving in convoy or dangerously between 4.30pm and 5.30pm in the Birdhill area and nearby townlands.
- It is understood her car was forced off the road before she was pulled from the vehicle and attacked by two individuals reportedly armed with weapons, one believed to have been an axe.
- Gardaí say video of the incident is circulating online and ask the public not to share it, instead providing any recordings or information to Nenagh Garda station or the Garda Confidential Line.
