Gardaí Pursue Definite Line of Inquiry in Fatal Limerick Three-Car Crash

Gardaí say they are pursuing a definite line of inquiry to identify the driver who left a car at the scene.

Overview

  • The victim was named locally as Áine O’Reilly, a nurse from Pallasgreen, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
  • The collision happened around 11:10pm on Friday on the N24 near Grange West, Boher, and a man in his 40s sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
  • Garda Forensic Collision Investigators completed a technical examination and the N24 between the R505 and L1132 has reopened.
  • Investigators are seeking dash-cam footage from 10:45pm to 11:30pm on Friday, with contacts at Henry Street Garda Station (061 212 400) or the Garda Confidential Line (1800 666 111).
  • The coroner was notified and a post-mortem will take place at University Hospital Limerick as the investigation continues and Gardaí thank the public for assistance.
