GameStop Storefronts Go Live on Uber Eats Nationwide

The move offers on-demand delivery of physical games and collectibles to reach customers during a market shift away from discs.

Overview

  • Uber and GameStop announced the partnership on July 15, listing GameStop locations across the United States on the Uber Eats app for scheduled or on-demand delivery with real-time tracking.
  • Customers can order video games, consoles, accessories, and collectibles from a Retail or Electronics tab and pick a delivery window, according to the companies' press release.
  • Early user tests found delivered prices can be materially higher after Uber Eats fees, with one checkout showing roughly a $20 premium versus in-store purchase.
  • The deal is part of Uber Eats' push beyond food into retail categories such as grocery, beauty, home improvement, and electronics and gives GameStop another sales channel as foot traffic falls.
  • The partnership follows GameStop's shuttering of nearly 400 stores earlier in 2026 and comes as the industry shifts toward digital distribution, including Sony's plan to end new-game disc production in 2028.
