Galicia Launches €30 Million FP Innovation Plan as FP Innova Showcases 70+ School Projects

The push centers training on local jobs through virtual tools with school pilots.

Overview

  • The regional government unveiled a 2026–2030 plan worth about €30 million that adds a shared extended‑reality hub called Metaverso FPGal plus three tools designed by the Centro Eduardo Barreiros: Capacita FP, Simula FP and Orienta FP.
  • The FP Innova fair at Santiago’s Cidade da Cultura features more than 70 innovation and entrepreneurship projects from 38 training centers and expects over 10,000 student visitors.
  • One pilot, VoaComida, uses drones to deliver prepared meals to scattered rural parishes and to walkers on the Camino, with partner schools building the ordering app, special food packaging and nutrition‑tuned menus.
  • Another team proposes turning retired wind‑turbine blades into sealed flotation for mussel rafts called bateas, a beta‑stage design that early tests suggest could float about 100 kilograms per 150‑liter section.
  • Education officials from other regions toured the Eduardo Barreiros innovation center and companies visited the fair, signaling a push to move school prototypes into workplaces through AI‑ and VR‑based training and tools such as the OPI Orienta guidance assistant and the Vetinen English simulator.
