- Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari laid foundation stones on Monday, June 15, for six National Highway projects in Meghalaya totalling Rs 3,214 crore to start near-term construction.
- The six projects include four new stretches—the Pynursla bypass, Dhubri‑Phulbari Bridge–Selsella road, Selsella–Goeragre road and Tura bypass—and upgrades to the Shillong‑Dawki corridor and Jowai bypass with project-level costs announced.

- Gadkari made clear that approval and start of the bigger projects hinge on timely land acquisition, completed detailed project reports and environmental and forest clearances before work can be sanctioned.
