- On Saturday, August 1, 2026, the GAA’s Management Committee and Central Council met and overwhelmingly endorsed the Ethics and Integrity Commission’s December recommendation to keep Allianz as sponsor and underwriter.
- The GAA cited difficulty finding an alternative insurer without similar corporate links and warned that terminating the contract could jeopardise insurance cover, invite legal exposure, and cost sponsorship revenue.
