Overview
- FX officially greenlit Legends on Wednesday, August 19, and announced Charlie Hunnam as the creator, star and executive producer who developed the concept with writer-producer Jonathan Groff.
- The project brings back Ron Perlman, Katey Sagal, Maggie Siff, Mark Boone Junior, Tommy Flanagan, Kim Coates and Theo Rossi as fictionalized versions of themselves at a fan convention.
- FX described Legends as a 'meta-thriller' in which the line between life and art blurs and the reunited cast faces a real-world threat beyond what they encountered on Sons of Anarchy.
- The series will be produced by FX Productions and 20th Television and will be available on FX and Hulu, but filming has not yet begun and no premiere date has been set.
- Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter is not credited on Legends and has said he is not involved, while the move to have actors play themselves lets FX revive the franchise without resurrecting characters killed off in the original 2008–2014 series.
