Fundrise and xStocks to Tokenize VCX as VCXx After Volatile NYSE Debut

The token could widen retail access to late-stage tech holdings by making shares tradable across crypto wallets and protocols.

Overview

  • A Sunday announcement between xStocks and Fundrise will list a tokenized version of the Fundrise Innovation Fund as VCXx in the coming days.
  • VCX is a closed-end fund that owns private shares of SpaceX, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Databricks.
  • The fund’s stock began trading March 19 at $31, jumped to about $575 within days, then fell to $173 after a Citron Research report that Fundrise’s CEO called a smear.
  • VCXx is designed to move across wallets and trading venues and to be used in DeFi for collateral and lending.
  • xStocks runs on Payward’s tech, supports more than 100 tokenized stocks, and reports over $25 billion in trades, in a tokenized equities market that RWA.xyz says has passed $1 billion in value.
