FSA Issues New ‘Do Not Eat’ Alerts as UK Supermarkets Recall Multiple Products

The FSA urges shoppers to check batch codes and dates because the latest recalls stem from labelling errors or contamination.

Overview

  • Co-op has recalled Irresistible Triple Cook Thick Cut Chunky Chips after packs were mistakenly filled with Dauphinoise potatoes, leading to undeclared milk; affected packs carry a 14 February use-by date and should be returned for a refund.
  • Lidl GB is recalling Snaktastic Multigrain Bites Sour Cream & Black Pepper due to possible pieces of foil, with affected bags marked best before 4 April and batch code 207 345.
  • Farmfoods is recalling Ritz Cheese Sandwich sourced from Indonesia for undeclared milk, soya and wheat; the notice applies to England and Wales, covers all batch codes from that origin, and advises customers not to eat the product.
  • Infant formula alerts have been updated to include several Aptamil and Cow & Gate first infant and follow-on milks over potential cereulide toxin, extending the Aptamil notice first issued on 23 January; consumers are told to stop use and check the full list on the FSA website.
  • Other February notices include TJX Europe Ten Acre Gifts/Coffee Syrup sold at TK Maxx and Homesense for undeclared nuts, peanuts, soya and wheat, plus separate recalls for Booths’ Supper Club crumbles with incorrect dates, Brioche Pasquier Pitch brioches with possible plastic, Tanpopo Chicken Katsu Roll misdated in England, and Darna Tahini with undeclared peanuts.
