FromSoftware and Nintendo Set The Duskbloods Closed Network Test, Applications Open July 22

The short August playtests will let the studio stress servers, probe multiplayer stability, and gather balance data before the game's 2026 Switch 2 launch.

Overview

  • Multiple outlets reported the test confirmation on Wednesday with FromSoftware and Nintendo scheduling the live sessions for late August to evaluate online systems.
  • Players can apply for the closed Network Test between July 22 and July 28 and successful applicants will be notified on August 7.
  • Selected participants receive a download code and the pre-release build will be available on the Nintendo eShop on August 18 at 6:00 a.m. PDT.
  • The trial runs as five separate four-hour sessions across the weekend beginning August 21, supports up to eight-player PvPvE matches, and requires a Switch 2, a Nintendo Account, and an active Switch Online membership with capture disabled.
  • FromSoftware says the test will perform large-scale server load checks, examine multiplayer behavior across network conditions, and collect balance data, outcomes that could shape final launch preparations and player experience.
