Fritz Releases FRITZ!OS 8.24 Beta for 7590 and 7590 AX With Expanded Monitoring and Failsafe

A broader 8.21 release is live on four other routers, delivering minor fixes plus a failover option on the 6690 Cable.

Overview

  • FRITZ!OS 8.24 (build 8.24-127390) is available as a Fritz Labor beta only for the FRITZ!Box 7590 and 7590 AX.
  • The test build adds an expanded Online Monitor, a simpler parental-control interface, clearer Failsafe status display, support for fixed‑IP primary links, and a new fritz.nas file‑sharing option.
  • Installation must be done manually via the Fritz Labor package, and AVM provides no support or warranty for beta firmware.
  • The beta also introduces network-setting overhauls, a note in Diagnostics when TR‑064 is disabled, and a VPN change that keeps guest Wi‑Fi outside full‑tunnel routing.
  • Separately, stable FRITZ!OS 8.21 has rolled out to the 6591 Cable, 6660 Cable, 6690 Cable, and 7530 with small fixes, including an IPv6 ADSL interoperability fix for the 7530 and a new automatic failover on the 6690 Cable.
