Fritz Introduces Fiber-Native Fritzbox 5630 and 5630 XGS With Wi‑Fi 7

Both are fiber‑ready via SFP(+) with pricing and release details still unannounced.

  • Fritz announced the 5630 series at the Network X trade show in Paris as home routers designed for direct fiber connections through an integrated SFP(+) slot.
  • The Fritzbox 5630 supports GPON up to 2.5 Gbit/s and AON up to 1 Gbit/s, while the 5630 XGS targets XGS‑PON services with symmetrical speeds up to 10 Gbit/s.
  • Users can deploy the new models directly on eligible fiber lines or operate them behind an existing optical network terminal.
  • Wi‑Fi 7 is implemented in a pared‑down 2x2 configuration without 6 GHz, with theoretical peaks of up to 2880 Mbit/s on 5 GHz and 688 Mbit/s on 2.4 GHz.
