Overview
- Eight wagons of a cement-laden goods train derailed around 11:25 pm on December 27 between Lahaban and Simultala in Eastern Railway’s Asansol Division, blocking both lines.
- Several wagons fell from a bridge near Telwa Bazar Halt over the Barua river, scattering cargo and physically obstructing the section.
- Accident Relief Trains from Asansol, Madhupur and Jhajha were deployed, with clearance work continuing on a war footing and service disruptions expected to extend into Monday.
