Frankfurt Airport Inaugurates Terminal 3 With Experience-Driven Retail

The project signals Fraport’s push to pair major capacity growth with retail-led passenger experience.

Overview

  • Terminal 3, inaugurated Wednesday, begins passenger flights Thursday 23 April in a phased start-up across the new facility.
  • Frankfurt Airport Retail unveiled 3,000 sq m of duty-free and Travel Value space that includes a central Non‑Schengen store of more than 1,700 sq m, a GateZero trend store for younger shoppers, and boutiques from Hugo Boss, Polo Ralph Lauren and Montblanc.
  • The terminal debuts the LTC Beacon, a cross-category tasting and gifting hub that hosts activations from Henkell Freixenet, Diageo’s Johnnie Walker, Godiva and Davidoff Geneva.
  • Lagardère Travel Retail opened nine food and drink concepts across ten locations and six Relay shops that add self-checkout and daily fresh grab-and-go from Neni Deli, Natoo and Manga Sushi.
  • The new terminal adds capacity for up to 19 million passengers, introduces automated check-in and CT security scanners, and starts relocating 57 airlines through 9 June with 64 shops and restaurants available.
