France Sets April 9 Start for 2026 Income Tax Declarations With Staggered Deadlines by Department

Inflation-indexed brackets rise 0.9%, reshaping thresholds for what filers will owe.

  • - Paper forms remain limited to taxpayers without internet access or unable to validate prefilled data, with a submission deadline of 19 May 2026.
  • - The income tax scale is indexed to inflation for 2026, with all brackets increased by 0.9% as confirmed by Bercy.
  • - Under the updated scale, a single filer becomes taxable from an annual revenu fiscal of €17,604, roughly equivalent to €1,630 net per month.
  • - Tax notices will be issued in summer, and any underpayment will be collected from September to December 2026 in one debit under €300 or four monthly debits for higher amounts.
