France Set for Sunny Easter Weekend With Monday Heat Near 30°C

A south wind from a nearby high will drive a short burst of early-spring heat.

Overview

  • National forecasters, who updated guidance Thursday, say an anticyclonic shift will bring a bright, warmer spell over the Easter weekend.
  • Saturday should be largely sunny nationwide with a small shower risk in the northwest and highs in the mid-teens north to near 20°C south.
  • Sunday looks more mixed in the north with cloud and a few light showers from Brittany to the borders, while the south stays broadly sunny.
  • Easter Monday is set to be the peak with sunshine for most areas and highs above 20°C widely, reaching 25–28°C in the southwest and near 30°C in Aquitaine.
  • The warm spell should end quickly as Atlantic fronts return by mid-week, bringing more clouds, showers, and drops of about 10°C in places.
