France Orders Recalls of Delpeyrat Smoked Trout for Listeria and Auchan Toasts for Undeclared Egg

Authorities call for returns with refunds available into January, urging vigilance for listeriosis symptoms in vulnerable people.

Overview

  • Government portal Rappel Conso announced the Dec. 24 recalls covering Delpeyrat smoked trout and Auchan plain toasts after safety issues were identified.
  • The Delpeyrat product is the 8-slice, 220 g “truite fumée 100% France” lot J3170038, which tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes.
  • The trout was sold from Dec. 15 in Intermarché stores across about thirty departments and at Carrefour Market Nice Le Ray, with a use-by date of Jan. 10, 2026 and refunds available through Jan. 10.
  • Auchan “toasts nature” 280 g with lots beginning C348BB and C349BB were sold nationwide Dec. 16–23 with undeclared egg, and they can be refunded until Jan. 21, 2026.
  • Officials advise anyone who consumed the products and develops fever, headache or muscle aches to consult a doctor, noting listeriosis can incubate up to eight weeks and poses higher risk to pregnant people, young children, those over 65 and immunocompromised individuals.
