Overview
- The nationwide recall, covering packs sold through Carrefour, Auchan, Leclerc, Intermarché, Système U, Casino, Monoprix and Provera between April 9 and May 3, targets Herta’s smoked lardons.
- The affected items are 200 g and 250 g (+25% free) beech-smoked packs with GTIN 3154230802136 lot 6145084101 (use by 25 May), GTIN 3154230817932 lot 6146084101 (25 May) and GTIN 3154230802136 lot 6146084101 (26 May).
- Shoppers are told not to eat the product and to discard it or return it for a refund by May 26, with Herta’s consumer line at 0800 71 10 03 for help.
- Salmonella can cause sudden diarrhea, vomiting, fever and headache 6 to 72 hours after eating, with higher risk for young children, older adults, pregnant women and people with weak immunity.
- Authorities note the product is sold to be cooked and that thorough cooking to 65°C kills Salmonella, yet the recall remains active and full identifiers are posted on the Rappel Conso site.
