France Orders Recall of Five Kiabi Garments Over Excess PFAS

Consumers are instructed to stop using the items, with refunds available under France's newer PFAS limits in textiles.

Overview

  • The government portal Rappel Conso flagged references DBB51, DQG39, DPT67, DNX63 and DNX65 for PFAS levels above authorized thresholds.
  • The garments were sold across France between late June and late December 2025, and customers are advised to return them for reimbursement through May 31, 2026.
  • Kiabi says routine quality checks detected slight exceedances, the products have been removed from sale, and remaining stocks are being withdrawn for destruction.
  • The recall covers a quilted pilot suit for babies plus four hooded windbreakers and lightweight jackets for children, women and men.
  • ANSES warns PFAS exposure can harm health, and a 2025 law now restricts their use in clothing starting January 1, 2026.
