France Boosts Condo EV Charging Aid Starting April 1

Richer grants with upfront financing aim to cut costs by about half to unlock charger rollouts in shared and outdoor parking.

Overview

  • Advenir, which announced the changes Friday, will raise subsidies for charger-ready wiring in co-owned buildings starting April 1 under a scheme funded by energy-saving certificates.
  • The main grant cap increases to €12,500 per building for up to 100 spaces, with a per-space supplement rising to €125 for additional spots.
  • Outdoor lots receive a larger premium set at €8,000 for up to 100 spaces plus €80 for each extra space to cover higher cabling costs.
  • Owners of private parking spots in these buildings can now claim up to €1,000 for a home charger, and Logivolt advances project costs so an owner who installs pays about €1,080 on average.
  • Only about 2% of French co-ownerships have chargers today across roughly 160,000 eligible buildings, signaling a large rollout gap the programme aims to close by 2027 with a €520 million budget.
