Overview
- A pickup struck a pedestrian on Hollis Street and fled around 10:30 p.m. Monday before the victim, 62-year-old Philip Bligh of Framingham, died at Newton Wellesley Hospital.
- Framingham police and the Middlesex County district attorney identified 44-year-old Ronei DeOliveira as the accused and say he fled on foot, later returning and allegedly smelling of alcohol when officers found him.
- DeOliveira was arraigned on charges of operating under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and leaving the scene causing personal injury or death.
- A judge set $250,000 bail and ordered GPS monitoring, passport surrender and a ban on alcohol use; DeOliveira is due back in court on Sept. 30 and no attorney information was immediately available.
