Overview
- Framework announced a wireless keyboard with an integrated Windows Precision Touchpad aimed at couch and sim-rig use, repurposing the key switches and mechanics from its Laptop 12 line.
- The control board uses a Nordic nRF54 radio and supports pairing with up to four Bluetooth hosts, a 2.4 GHz USB-A dongle, and a wired USB-C option.
- Framework will publish CAD files and open-source ZMK firmware on GitHub, expose 28 I/O pins for mods, and sell the control board through its Marketplace for custom projects.
- A flush expansion card is planned so Framework laptops and the upcoming Desktop can house the keyboard’s USB dongle without it sticking out.
- Shipping is planned for later in 2026 with pricing unannounced, positioning the device as an upgrade over Logitech’s long-dominant K400, which many users criticize for a cramped touchpad and mushy keys.
