Overview
- A four-year-old boy vanished for several minutes while playing near the fish pond at Haden Hill Park and was found moments later in adjacent woodland after an alarm was raised.
- West Midlands Police opened an active investigation and said specially trained officers are speaking to the child and his family as they review CCTV and other footage.
- Officers issued a description of a male they want to trace — a Black male in his late teens, short in height, with curled hair, clean shaven and wearing black clothing — and the individual remains at large.
- The force is urging anyone who was in the park to contact police with information, to use a public evidence-upload portal or to report anonymously to Crimestoppers, and has given a log number for calls.
- Extra officers will patrol Haden Hill Park over the coming days to reassure local families, and detectives say enquiries are ongoing with key details still being established.
