Overview
- The four-planet grouping peaks Saturday, April 18, with a viewing window that runs roughly April 16–23 before sunrise.
- Best results come 60–90 minutes before local sunrise while facing a low, clear eastern horizon, such as about 5:30–6:10 am in central Mexico.
- Mercury, Mars and Saturn should be visible to the naked eye under dark skies, while Neptune is too faint without binoculars or a small telescope.
- Local conditions will decide what you see, so seek dark, open, elevated spots away from bright lights, including sites like Chapultepec, Desierto de los Leones and the Ajusco in Mexico City.
- Comet C/2025 R3 (PanSTARRS) is brightening before dawn and may be found with binoculars as it moves closer to the Sun and then nearer to Earth later in April.
