Four Detained After Daylight Heist at Senco Jewellery Showroom in Barpeta Road

Overview

• Police said four people were detained in Goalpara district in connection with Friday’s robbery and brought to Barpeta.
• Five armed men entered the Durgabari Road showroom around 12:45 pm, tied up staff, assaulted the manager, and threatened employees with pistols.
• The gang seized phones and wallets, looted large quantities of gold and diamond jewellery plus about ₹1.5 lakh in cash, then fled on motorcycles.
• Employees’ hands and mouths were bound, some suffered minor injuries, and local traders later freed them.
• The robbers removed the CCTV hard disk, police cordoned the area and intensified naka checks, and the investigation remains underway.
