Overview
- The shooting occurred around 5 am on Wednesday, June 17, when four men on two motorcycles opened fire as 42-year-old Hridayesh Mishra and his brother tried to move a mini truck near a temple in Sangam Vihar.
- Mishra was shot multiple times, rushed to a nearby hospital and declared dead while his brother Ajay suffered minor injuries and is receiving treatment.
- Delhi Police say all four suspects have been arrested and officers carried out on-site searches, reviewed CCTV footage and called in Crime Team and Forensic Sciences Laboratory experts to collect evidence.
- Investigators say the attack appears linked to a long-standing family rivalry and that one accused is believed to be Mishra’s cousin with a possible connection to an earlier murder case in Badaun district.
- Police have registered a case and completed or started postmortem and forensic work, and prosecutors will need the CCTV and FSL findings to establish the sequence of events and each suspect’s role.
