Fortnite Chapter Seven Launches With Golden Coast and Storm Surf as Battle Bus Return Set for Dec. 4

A phased rollout will restore legacy elements this week following the overhaul.

Overview

  • Epic’s v39.00 update is live with a new Golden Coast island and a temporary Storm Surf deployment in place of the Battle Bus.
  • Core changes include a Self-Revive Device for DBNO players, new DBNO movement, drivable Reboot Vans, Simple Build, saved reload progress, clearer hitmarkers, ADS while jumping, and spectator/emote overhauls.
  • Seven new weapons headline the refreshed arsenal—Iron Pump and Twin Hammer shotguns, Deadeye AR, Holo Rush SMG, Vengeful Sniper, Arc‑Lightning Gun, and Forsaken Vow Blade—alongside Wingsuit mobility and multiple unvaults.
  • Defeating bosses Beach Brutus, Hush, or Human Bill grants Mythic loot and a medallion that transforms players with added abilities at the cost of revealing their position.
  • Epic schedules key returns: the Battle Bus and Reload with Surf City on Dec. 4, Blitz Royale with Starfall Island and Ranked to follow, Fortnite OG on Dec. 11, and Delulu on Dec. 12; the Battle Pass features The Bride and Marty McFly, with Tarantino’s in‑engine short already premiered.
