Overview
- Fort Worth ISD, which announced Wednesday an automatic 5% raise, will apply it to teachers of record in non-ELEVATE classrooms for the 2026–27 school year.
- The district said the increase will post automatically for eligible classroom teachers without waiting for lengthy negotiations.
- As part of a wider recruiting drive, the district will hold an open teacher job fair on May 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the FWISD Teaching and Learning Center in Fort Worth.
- ELEVATE, the district’s network for low-performing schools, offers top-rated teachers $88,000 to $100,000 or more, and the board recently voted to reduce jobs on those campuses.
- FWISD remains under a Texas Education Agency takeover with a state-appointed board and Superintendent Peter Licata, while the mayor praised the urgency and a teachers’ group said working conditions still need attention.
