- District Attorney Brooke Jenkins filed felony charges Friday against former deputy Damon Jones for engaging in sexual activity with a confined adult and for dissuading a witness from reporting a crime.
- Prosecutors say the alleged encounter took place in a bathroom stall at San Francisco County Jail No. 2 on Sept. 11, 2025 when Jones told a transgender incarcerated woman to perform oral sex.
- The victim preserved biological material that was DNA-tested and prosecutors say that result, together with jail surveillance video, tied Jones to the alleged encounter.
- Jones was arrested in Solano County, has posted bail and is no longer employed by the sheriff’s office, and officials say the arrest was delayed after the sheriff’s department first handled the probe before Jenkins asked the SFPD to take over.
- The charges come days after prosecutors charged Deputy Nanette Musto for inappropriate touching at the same facility and add to broader oversight and accountability reviews involving internal probes and the Department of Police Accountability.
