Former God of War Writer Urges PS5 Remake to Keep Original Sex Minigames

She says the contentious scenes were created by women to serve Kratos’s characterization.

Overview

  • Alanah Pearce, who worked at Sony Santa Monica, said on a March 9 livestream she supports retaining the sex minigames in the planned PS5 trilogy remake.
  • Pearce said the sequences were largely designed by women and cited the Aphrodite chamber in God of War 3 as intentionally evocative of female anatomy.
  • She identified Ariel Lawrence as a contributor to the original scenes and said Lawrence was proud of that work.
  • A Push Square reader poll reported 70% support for keeping the minigames in the remake.
  • Sony and Santa Monica Studio have not announced whether the remakes will include these scenes, and the project remains early in development after last month’s reveal.
