Overview
- Ford announced on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2026, that the truck will be called Fathom with a starting MSRP of $28,350 and a $1,595 destination fee for a delivered price of $29,945.
- The Fathom is the first model on Ford’s Universal Electric Vehicle (UEV) platform and will be built at the Louisville Assembly Plant using an 'assembly-tree' system that builds front, rear and structural battery sections in parallel before joining them.
- Every Fathom will include BlueCruise-capable hardware, bidirectional charging, a large high-resolution touchscreen with native Apple Maps, a digital key, a frunk and five seats with more passenger volume than a Toyota RAV4.
- Ford confirmed the base price applies to a standard-range LFP battery pack sourced from BlueOval Battery Park Michigan but has not disclosed battery capacity, official driving range, or fast-charge rates.
- Pre-orders open early 2027 with customer deliveries in late or fall 2027, and Ford says the Fathom is a strategic move to cut EV costs, broaden mainstream buyer choice, and compete with lower-cost rivals while testing whether the low price holds up in production.
