Overview
- The recall targets a fault in the Integrated Trailer Module that can cut communication with attached trailers, disabling tail lights and turn signals and, on some models, trailer braking.
- Affected models span 2021–2026 F-150, 2022–2026 F-250 Super Duty, 2022–2026 Expedition, 2022–2026 Maverick, 2024–2026 Ranger, 2026 E-Transit, and 2022–2026 Lincoln Navigator.
- Ford says drivers may see a “Trailer Brake Module Fault” or “Blind Spot Assist System fault” message and rapid turn-signal flashing, often at vehicle start-up.
- The company reports 407 related incident claims but no known crashes or injuries and estimates about 1% of the recalled vehicles exhibit the issue.
- About 590,000 vehicles in Canada are also covered, owners will be notified beginning March 17, and free remedies are available via over-the-air, dealer, or mobile service as NHTSA oversees the action.
