Overview
- The NHTSA-listed campaign, opened Tuesday, covers 2021–2023 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs and 2022–2023 Ford Super Duty trucks from the F-250 through F-600.
- Ford says some wiper arms were built with an incorrectly staked latch retention plate and weak knurl-to-arm engagement, which can cause erratic movement, failure, or detachment that reduces visibility.
- Dealer inspections began April 1, with letters to owners set for April 13–17 and free replacement of any wiper arms that do not pass the check.
- All affected vehicles were built at Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant between October 21, 2021 and December 31, 2022, and the company estimates only about 3% actually have the defect.
- Ford has recorded 1,538 warranty claims and 11 field reports with no crashes or injuries reported, and it is still developing a permanent remedy under this interim recall.
