Overview
- Ford announced Thursday that the pickup will be called Fathom with a starting MSRP of $28,350 and a $1,595 destination fee that brings the on-the-road price to $29,945.
- The Fathom will be the first model on Ford’s Universal Electric Vehicle (UEV) platform and will be assembled at the retooled Louisville Assembly Plant using a three-branch “assembly-tree” process designed to cut parts and labor.
- Every Fathom will include a large high-resolution touchscreen with built-in Apple Maps, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, BlueCruise-capable hardware, bidirectional charging and a digital key, and it will have a built-in NACS port for Tesla Supercharger access.
- Ford says the base price covers a ‘standard‑range’ LFP battery pack but has not disclosed EPA range or full battery specs for the sub-$30,000 model and confirms that a 300-mile target applies only to certain configurations.
- Pre-orders will open in early 2027 with customer deliveries set for fall 2027, and the Fathom is part of Ford’s strategic shift after a major EV writedown to compete with low-cost startups and lower-priced trucks like the Maverick.
