Ford Introduces Mustang Dark Horse SC With Supercharged 5.2-Liter V8

The new variant fills the gap below the GTD by bringing GT3-derived hardware to a road-legal track car.

Overview

  • The Dark Horse SC features a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission developed by Ford Racing using GT3 and GTD know-how.
  • Standard hardware includes MagneRide dampers with updated tuning, stiffer springs and antiroll bars, revised front and rear knuckles, a magnesium strut brace, and Brembo six-piston front and four-piston rear brakes.
  • An optional Track Pack adds 20-inch carbon wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, GTD carbon-ceramic brakes, and aero elements that generate 280 kg of downforce at 290 km/h.
  • A GTD-derived variable traction-control system is available with five levels of assistance and fully defeatable stability control for track use.
  • U.S. orders open in spring 2026 with deliveries slated for summer 2026, with power figures and pricing yet to be announced and European availability not confirmed.
