Ford, Honda, BMW and Stellantis Recall Hundreds of Thousands of Vehicles Over Safety Defects

The actions respond to NHTSA filings citing failures to meet federal safety standards that increase crash and injury risks.

If you're a fan of the Jeep formula and enjoy driving when the pavement runs out, there's nothing better than the Wrangler. Chrysler had 48 recalls in 2025, according to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration data with the Jeep Wrangler being impacted. 
The 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe Premier 4WD sports optional 22-inch polished aluminum wheels and Polar White tricoat exterior paintwork. General Motors owns Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC brands. An April recall impacted nearly 600,000 GM vehicles for engine failure. 
Data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows vehicle recalls at record levels for 2025, especially related to Ford products.

  • Ford is recalling more than 272,000 vehicles, including certain 2022–2026 F‑150 Lightning, 2024–2026 Mustang Mach‑E and 2025–2026 Maverick models, over a park module fault that can allow rollaway, with an over‑the‑air update now and a final remedy anticipated in February.
  • Honda is recalling 70,658 Acura ILX cars from model years 2016–2020 because contaminated brake fluid can deform a master‑cylinder seal and reduce braking, with dealers replacing the master cylinder free of charge and owner letters planned by February 2, 2026.
  • Stellantis is recalling more than 52,500 2025 Ram 2500–5500 trucks for a software issue that can compromise safety systems such as air bag deployment and stability control, increasing crash and injury risk.
  • BMW is recalling 36,922 2025–2026 X3 vehicles for unexpected steering wheel movement, with steering software updates to be applied at dealers or delivered over the air.
  • Repairs are free under these NHTSA recalls, remedies are being deployed via software updates or dealer service with owner notifications scheduled into early February, and some motorists have been told not to drive affected vehicles until fixed.
