Ford Confirms Factory‑Backed Mustang GT3 EVO for Suzuka 1000km

This entry extends Ford Racing’s GT3 campaign across the Intercontinental GT Challenge, increasing the Mustang’s visibility in Japan before the Sept. 11–13 race.

Ford Racing announced Tuesday that a single Pro-class Ford Mustang GT3 EVO will contest the Suzuka 1000km as a factory-backed joint entry run by Miedecke Motorsport and Melbourne Performance Centre under the name “Miedecke Motorsport by Team MPC.”
The car will be driven by Christopher Mies, Dennis Olsen and Frédéric Vervisch, the same trio that delivered the Mustang GT3 its first major global victory at the 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona.
The entry marks the Mustang GT3’s Suzuka debut and is only the program’s third race in Japan and its first GT3 appearance in the country outside the WEC 6 Hours of Fuji.
Miedecke Motorsport will provide parts, distribution and Ford links while MPC brings race program experience and workshop support from their shared Melbourne base, with both teams operating the car in Ford Racing factory colours.
The Suzuka 1000km runs Sept. 11–13 as round four of the 2026 Intercontinental GT Challenge and the provisional entry list due soon will show the Mustang’s competitive context and full field for the event.
