FOM Poll Finds 80% Approve Putin as United Russia Leads With 41%

The weekly in-person survey sampled 1,500 adults nationwide with a reported error of up to 3.6%.

  • The FOM results published January 23 report 80% positive evaluations of Vladimir Putin’s performance and 79% saying they rather trust him.
  • A majority rate the federal government’s work positively at 51%, while 57% approve of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin’s performance.
  • In a hypothetical State Duma vote held next Sunday, respondents most often chose United Russia at 41%, followed by LDPR at 10% and CPRF at 8%, with New People at 4% and A Just Russia at 3%.
  • Fieldwork for the FOMnibus survey was conducted January 16–18 via in-person interviews across 97 localities in 51 regions of Russia.
  • A separate VCIOM phone survey released the same day found 75.2% approval for Putin and party support at 33.8% for United Russia based on interviews conducted December 12–18.
