Fnac Darty Plans Closures at Five Nature & Découvertes Stores

The group says the targeted reductions form part of efforts to tighten the chain’s footprint while it seeks an external partner to support the brand’s turnaround.

Overview

  • Fnac Darty presented a targeted closure plan on Saturday to shut four Nature & Découvertes shops in Île‑de‑France and one in Marseille, with the group saying the shutdowns will occur progressively.
  • The four Paris‑region sites named are Boulogne‑Billancourt, Saint‑Germain‑en‑Laye, Rosny‑sous‑Bois and Claye‑Souilly, where 22 staff will be reclassified, and the Marseille Centre Bourse store is scheduled to close by the end of the year.
  • The project has been submitted to the company’s Comité social et économique for consultation and the CSE is expected to issue an opinion by the summer before any closures proceed.
  • Fnac Darty says it launched an active search for a partner in late January 2026 and frames the cuts as part of managing an underperforming network that helped produce a €146 million net loss for the group in 2025.
  • The chain’s scale is unclear in public records, with Fnac Darty citing 850 employees and 96 stores at end‑2025 while the brand’s website lists 1,042 collaborators and 87 stores, and Nature & Découvertes already ran a 72‑job PSE between October 2024 and January 2025 that affected headquarters, shops and the warehouse.
