Flyers Loan Top Prospect Jack Berglund Back to the SHL

Overview

• The Philadelphia Flyers announced Monday that they have loaned center Jack Berglund to Färjestad BK for the club’s full 2026–27 Swedish Hockey League season.
• Berglund signed a three-year NHL entry-level contract in April and made a five-game AHL debut with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms before the team decided to send him back to Sweden.
• Last season Berglund played 40 SHL games for Färjestad, scoring seven goals and 12 points, and he also captained Sweden to World Juniors gold with 10 points in seven games.
• The Flyers framed the move as a development decision to secure Berglund a bigger role and more ice time in a high-level pro league rather than a depth role on a crowded AHL roster.
• Färjestad’s season begins Sept. 19, which overlaps NHL rookie and main camps, and the Flyers expect Berglund to return to North America after the 2026–27 SHL campaign depending on his progress.
