Florida Man Arrested After Alleged Feces Attack on Neighbor

Officials say deputies found visible injuries and animal waste while recordings and bodycam excerpts offer conflicting accounts before the suspect’s August 31 court date.

Overview

  • Lake County deputies arrested 35-year-old Trey Decloedt on Aug. 8 after a neighbor reported that Decloedt entered the home holding dog feces, threw it at the resident, and a physical fight followed.
  • Responding deputies documented a red mark on the homeowner’s forehead and animal feces outside the house, details recorded in the county’s probable-cause affidavit.
  • The affidavit says Decloedt then picked up a metal child’s scooter and raised it in a menacing posture while verbally threatening the neighbor.
  • Decloedt gave police a different account, saying he was shoved in the doorway and that neighbors had an earlier understanding about entering each other’s homes, while the neighbor provided a recorded message saying Decloedt was no longer welcome.
  • Prosecutors charged Decloedt with burglary with battery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and simple battery; he posted $16,000 bond on Aug. 9 and is scheduled to appear in Lake County court on Aug. 31.
