Florida Authorities Arrest 49 in Multicounty Fentanyl, Meth and Cocaine Takedown

Statewide prosecutors will lead prosecutions as investigators continue follow‑up work that could produce additional arrests.

Overview

  • Court‑authorized wire intercepts, trap‑and‑trace orders, controlled buys and surveillance built a years‑long probe called Operation Ice Breaker II that identified mid‑ and upper‑level distributors.
  • Search warrants executed around June 30 recovered fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, cash, digital scales, cutting agents and phones that investigators say tied suspects to the networks.
  • Attorney General James Uthmeier announced on Thursday that 49 people were arrested across Volusia, Flagler, St. Johns, Marion and Orange counties and that three men have been named as primary defendants.
  • The named defendants face first‑degree trafficking and conspiracy counts that carry substantial mandatory minimum sentences and large fines, and dozens of other suspects face related charges.
  • Local officials said raids included a location near a Holly Hill church linked to alleged gang activity, and prosecutors from the Office of Statewide Prosecution and the Seventh Judicial Circuit will handle the cases as the investigation continues.
