Overview
- SB 246, signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis, opens pre-sale on October 1, 2026 for a slate of new specialty license plates.
- Residents must request the plates through their county tax collector office and pay an added fee on top of standard registration.
- One option features the Ultimate Fighting Championship plate with the inscription “UFC Lives Here.”
- Revenue from the UFC plate goes to the UFC Foundation to support children’s hospitals, emergency services, military support, and youth mentorship with local law enforcement partners.
- The law also authorizes plates for Miami Northwestern Alumni Association, Miami Dade College, Christopher Columbus High School, St. Petersburg College, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Military Academy, and Florida Film Legacy, with funds directed to scholarships, veterans’ aid, and film initiatives, and it requires a five-year financial projection within 60 days after October 1 or the plate loses authorization.
